On Feb 16th, the day reports emerged that Kim Sae-ron had been found deceased at her home, Migyo posted on social media, “It takes someone dying for malicious commenters to stop. Only then do they realize, ‘Oh no.’ But they probably don’t even know that they’re the ones leaving hate comments.”
She further criticized the media, “The same goes for the press and broadcasting stations. They sensationalize headlines, chase controversy, and create stories just for clicks. But when someone dies because of it, they suddenly act as if they had nothing to do with it, pretending to be virtuous. It’s disgusting. Taking a life has never been easier—only the deceased suffer.”
Though Migyo did not directly mention Kim Sae-ron’s name, she included hashtags along with the message, “Rest in peace.“
Kim Sae-ron was found deceased at her home in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul at approximately 4:45 PM on Feb 16th. She was 25 years old. Reports state that a friend, who had planned to meet her, discovered her and alerted the police. The police confirmed, “There were no signs of an outsider having broken in or any criminal suspicions.“
Kim Sae-ron was an actress under Gold Medalist from 2020 to 2022. In May 2022, she was involved in a DUI accident, and her exclusive contract expired in December of the same year. As a result of the incident, she was fined 20 million KRW in May 2023. She later attempted a comeback through the play “Dongchimi”, but withdrew following public criticism.
